OpenAI officially released a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model, consulting the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and AI at the Institute for Advanced Study on release decisions.
petergostev reports spending roughly 300 billion tokens on the Hadwiger–Nelson problem with GPT-5.6 and Astra: no full solution, but five colors are now ruled out, moving the lower bound to 6 or 7 — "not a full solution yet, but it's a biggie."
