Verge hands-on: all five Googlebooks are exciting but underbaked
tomwarren · x · 2026-10-07
The Verge tested all five launch Googlebooks (on sale Oct 4) and found them promising but unfinished. The Android phone integration is slick — apps show up in a laptop app drawer, phone files are readily accessible, and you can act on your phone from the laptop more naturally than Windows or macOS solutions. But the devices feel Chromebook-ish and janky, and early adopters are effectively beta testing Android laptops.
