Midjourney CEO: A 1.5cm Bigger Skull Radius Would Double the Human Neocortex
DavidSHolz · x · 2026-10-07
Midjourney founder David Holz shared a counterintuitive observation: growing the human skull radius by only about 1.5cm would double the size of our neocortex.
He offered no further argument, but the geometric fact — tiny dimensional changes yielding exponential brain-volume differences — is often invoked in discussions of the physical constraints on human brain evolution and how tightly intelligence may be coupled to hardware form.
