1.5B Investor Posts Over 15 Years Wrapped Into a Free MCP Server, Rumor.io
rumor_io · reddit · 2026-10-07
A developer launched Rumor.io, an MCP server letting AI assistants read what investors say about 14,000+ stocks, ETFs and crypto — 1.5 billion posts across 15+ years, plus prices, fundamentals, earnings and news.
Available tools:
- searchassets / getasset: asset snapshots with price, attention, post volume and sentiment across day/week/month/year, with ranks.
- screenassets: rank/filter whole markets, e.g. biggest drop in bullish posts this month among $10B+ companies.
- gettimeseries / gettrends: daily per-asset history and market-wide attention/sentiment by sector, cap, region or topic.
- getsummary: written summaries of actual bullish/bearish arguments on a given day or month.
- getrelated: audience-overlap related assets; plus earnings, financials and news tools.
The thesis: it measures both the voting machine (social sentiment) and the weighing machine (fundamentals), and stronger future models could surface non-obvious social-psychology patterns. Feedback on tool design is requested.
