Ethan Mollick: 15% of the World Already Uses AI Daily, and It's Calmer Than Expected
emollick · x · 2026-10-07
Ethan Mollick pushes back on skepticism: the point isn't whether users have the "desire" or whether models are great — when 15% of the world's population is using these systems in personal and business life, it's already happening, and so far it's been much more okay than most expected.
The other user (@iruletheworldmo) argues Mollick overestimates use cases: most people treat LLMs as a faster Google or a recipe helper, at most monitoring email and booking flights, and few outside coding use them for anything mission-critical.
