Meta, Sierra, Stripe, Shopify and Walmart Launch Personal Agent Protocol Open Standard
jeff_weinstein · x · 2026-10-07
Sierra and Meta announced the Personal Agent Protocol (PAP), an open standard defining how personal AI agents interact with businesses, with Genesys, Instinct, Rocket, Shopify, Stripe, and Walmart as founding members. Today agents click through websites like humans, which is slow and fragile; PAP enables direct, secure connections handling authentication, consumer empowerment, and brand visibility/control. It is open for anyone to implement.
