Lea launches: a research-focused social network built on the AT Protocol
EugeneVinitsky · x · 2026-10-07
Researchers Eugene Vinitsky and Maria Antoniak launched the beta of Lea, a social platform purpose-built for research discussion, now live on Android with iOS coming this week. It runs on the AT Protocol, so Bluesky accounts can log in and carry over posts and networks.
- Conference pages for tracking talks, events and papers
- Aggregated discussion threads per paper
- Research profiles highlighting favorite papers and co-author chains
- LaTeX support, arbitrary-length posts and editing
- Custom feed remixing via atproto builders like Graze
- Daily discovery feed of trending papers and technical blogs
The motivation: social media has become the de facto venue for research discussion, but was never designed for it.
