Ex-Google researcher Szegedy: AI can take over correctness checks and importance assessment in peer review
ChrSzegedy · x · 2026-10-07
Christian Szegedy argues that parts of the academic review process will separate out and be outsourced to AI: correctness checking could be handled by machines, and assessing a paper's importance could also be delegated — researchers would get AI assessments to decide how much a paper speaks to their interests before investing time. This points to the mechanical, standardizable parts of peer review being automated first.
