Saha continues: traditional signals — author reputation, endorsements, sloppiness in writing — still work, and LLMs can now quickly summarize and judge papers, so no new costly signal is needed. Quoted, @littmath counters that undisclosed or fully AI-generated papers are a negative signal, and the real need is for some costly signal.
