PlayCanvas's Developer Spotlight features Solaya, a French deeptech startup (founded in Nice, April 2024) that converts a 3-minute 360° iPhone Pro scan into a photorealistic 3D digital twin within an hour, using 3D Gaussian Splatting rendered on the web via the PlayCanvas Engine.
- Assets are 30–60 MB, optimized for mobile browsers
- Outputs include an embeddable web viewer (e.g. Shopify), .ply exports for After Effects/Houdini, plus AI-generated videos and packshots
- Clients include Karl Lagerfeld, Rimowa, LVMH and Mattel, mainly for e-commerce content
