AI Summit Alliance released a nationally representative poll of 1,000 Swiss adults ahead of the 2027 Geneva AI Summit:
- 77% support Switzerland taking a global leadership role on advanced AI safeguards
- 94% say binding international rules for the most powerful AI should be a Swiss foreign-policy priority
- 91% say concrete agreements in Geneva would improve Switzerland's reputation; 73% say a summit without them would damage it
- 84% prioritise making AI safer over accelerating innovation; 65% accept economic costs to address AI risks
The report stresses support for governance is not hostility to technology — respondents still see major AI benefits.
