Who watches the AI? Another AI: enterprise agent governance goes layered
shaunralston · x · 2026-10-06
Robert Scoble & Irena Cronin argue the next enterprise AI breakthrough won't be a smarter agent but AI that manages other AIs. Large companies will run hundreds or thousands of continuously operating agents, generating more activity than humans can review — doubling agents multiplies oversight burden superlinearly. The answer: layered machine organizations where one agent does the task, others monitor, check security, evaluate quality, and decide when human approval is needed. Enterprise AI shifts from one assistant per employee to machines supervising machines.
