Cycle.io Launches DevOps MCP: 3-Node Mongo Replica Set Across 3 Clouds in 15 Minutes
AlexMattoni · reddit · 2026-10-06
An engineer at Cycle.io released a DevOps-focused MCP that deploys containers and VMs across bare-metal and multi-cloud/on-prem infrastructure, diagnoses complex networking issues, and executes remote commands inside containers/VMs. A demo had an agent deploy infrastructure and configure a 3-node Mongo replica set with UI across 3 cloud providers in 15 minutes.
Design highlights:
- Confirmation handshake for critical mutations: deletes require fetching the correct container ID from the MCP, user confirmation, and passing it back — preventing accidental deletions.
- Baked-in config hints: deploying Postgres/Redis/MongoDB returns best-practice setup guidance from years of experience.
- Latest MCP spec with CIMD authentication.
The MCP wraps key workflows of their 300+ endpoint API; security suite and Kubernetes migration tooling are planned.
