Mistral launches 1T-param Mistral Large 4; users question its benchmark claims

Mistral released Mistral Large 4 (aka Le Chonk): a natively multimodal model with 1T total parameters and 49B active, claimed to be the best open-weights model from the US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks, state-of-the-art on cyber defense, manufacturing and finance workloads, and surpassing closed frontier models on visual grounding. User haider questioned whether the benchmarks were missing from the announcement.
