Codex makes Auto-review free for all, as dev slams 28-update no-reset streak
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-10-06
OpenAI's Thibault Sottiaux announced Auto-review is now free for all users signed in via ChatGPT (settings > permissions > auto-review) and doesn't draw from plan usage. A second agent reviews all actions taken by the primary agent, aiming to block high-risk or off-intent actions and reduce approval fatigue during long autonomous runs.
Meanwhile developer bdsqlsz publicly criticized the cadence: 28 minor updates without a single reset, arguing the team should ship a reset on day one or users will come to resent every update.
