Mistral released Mistral Large 4 (aka Le Chonk), its new open-weights flagship:
- 1T total parameters, natively multimodal, 49B active.
- Claimed to be the best open-weights model from the US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks, SOTA on cyber defense, manufacturing and finance workloads, and surpassing closed frontier models on visual grounding.
- Trained end-to-end in Europe and deployable from Europe via Mistral's own infrastructure.
