Director builds 8-min AI film pipeline: Claude script, Python edit, rights hardest
smith2008 · reddit · 2026-10-06
A director shares the full pipeline behind an 8-minute short where AI handled script, footage sourcing, editing, VFX and sound: Claude Code wrote narration with fact-checks, sourced public-domain/CC footage with license logs, edits were Python code with a PyTorch GPU compositor and OpenCV face-tracking HUD, ElevenLabs voices verified word-for-word, mixed to -14 LUFS. Key lessons: rights tracking was harder than generation; audio matters more than visuals; a fully AI-generated version (123 clips via MiniMax H3 on an RTX 4090, 2h GPU) lost to real footage.
