Opus 5.5 uses fewer tokens than GPT-6.1 Sol while scoring better, fan argues

Blogger Angaisb (self-described OpenAI fanboy) calls for an objective look at criticism of Claude Opus 5.5:
- Intelligence: neither GPT-6 Astra nor GPT-6.1 Sol is smarter than Opus 5.5, and being more efficient doesn't automatically make them better
- Pushback on the 'token-burning machine' label: Opus 5.5 high actually uses fewer tokens per task than GPT-6.1 Sol while scoring better
- Cost tradeoffs: Astra is expensive however efficient, GPT-6.1 Sol is cheap, but not everyone optimizes for lowest cost — 'intelligence isn't intelligence per dollar, it's just intelligence'
His closing plea: pretending a rival lab's dominant release didn't happen only slows down progress for everyone.
