Bloomberg reports DeepSeek is close to raising at least $12B — well above its own target — at a possible $71B valuation, with signed term sheets potentially lifting the total to nearly $15B after demand surged post-V4 Flash launch. The money is earmarked for hardware, including at least 160,000 Huawei Ascend 950DT accelerators for a data center in Inner Mongolia. Tencent and CATL are again the biggest backers, having committed $1.5B and $740M in the first outside round ($52B post-money); founder Liang Wenfeng put in $3B of his own money.
