Slack's top-of-feed AI button is a dark pattern farming clicks, users complain

Slack engineer Charles Packer complained that pinning the Slackbot AI button to the top of the home rail has harvested hundreds of accidental clicks from him — and the AI taglines are hilariously bad. A Chinese observer adds that the prime placement is clearly about inflating AI usage metrics: nobody needs AI to summarize a few unread DMs.
