One-line Perl script floods your terminal with 100M random colored characters
doodlestein · x · 2026-10-06
doodlestein shared a terminal prank: a one-line Perl script generates 100 million random characters in random 256-color ANSI codes, then cats the file to instantly flood the terminal with fast-scrolling colored chaos. He followed up with an even more intense Python version producing 30 million styled emoji frames (500MB+), pointing would-be replicators to the first frame of the video for the command.
