Stanford prof says current experiment designs can't train causal virtual cell models

Stanford professor Anshul Kundaje quote-tweets that the field most needs live-cell 'omics data — static snapshots can't capture non-equilibrium systems, quipping "Napoleon is in equilibrium." He adds the bigger issue is data design itself: current experimental designs and measured inputs are insufficient to learn virtual cells, world models, or models capturing biologically causal mechanisms.
