Beam launches: Mira's new frontier lab credits its first-ever pretraining team

Beam, the frontier lab spun out of Mira led by MishaLaskin, has launched. Research lead alexpolozov thanked dozens of engineers and researchers across pretraining, data, ML, GPU and eval work, calling it the warmest and fastest-paced frontier lab he's seen, and noting this was the company's first in-house pretraining run. Replies add that the safety team spent 2 months auditing model outputs and updating evaluations and training recipes before launch.
