SemiAnalysis: Anthropic subscriptions offer 5x+ more value than OpenAI, but methodology questioned
morqon · x · 2026-10-06
SemiAnalysis published limit-testing of AI subscription plans across Anthropic, OpenAI, Meta, xAI, MiniMax, Moonshot, Cursor, Cognition and others, claiming Anthropic subscriptions deliver 5x+ more value. Elliot Glazer pushed back, arguing the headline doesn't match what the article actually measures: if OpenAI raised Sol's API costs 10x, the chart would present its "subscription value" as 10x higher with no consumer benefit.
