Building a Proactive Personal Agent With Pi Durable: Checkpoints, Memory, Own Linux Desktop
omarsar0 · x · 2026-10-06
Elvis Omara (@omarsar0) built an OpenAI-dots-style personal agent on @pidotdev's Pi Durable open-source framework and was impressed by how fast it came together. Key features: it runs proactively on schedules and waits for approval; every step is checkpointed so killing the process mid-task resumes cleanly; memory lives in durable documents that survive crashes across Spaces; each Space gets a full Linux desktop the agent controls via screenshots, mouse, and keyboard; and models are swappable via OpenRouter. He plans to open-source it after adding more primitives.
