Claude Projects cloud sessions can now read and edit approved local folders in place

Anthropic is rolling out a new capability for Claude Projects: a cloud session can connect to a user-approved local folder and read/edit files in place, only reaching into it when a task requires it.
Developer trq212 dubbed the pattern local hands — the model runs in the cloud but its hands are on your machine — and notes it's also coming to Anthropic's Cowork product. This closes a long-standing gap where cloud Claude couldn't touch local files, smoothing in-place codebase and document editing workflows.
