CC-Bench at COLM 2026 finds LLMs still default to stereotypes over implicit cultural cues
MaartenSap · x · 2026-10-06
Researchers introduce CC-Bench, a new benchmark for LLM cultural competence, accepted to COLM 2026 (poster session, Oct 8). Key finding: LLMs do not yet adapt well to implicitly revealed cultural preferences, instead defaulting to cultural stereotypes. The benchmark is designed to measure how well models understand and adapt to cultural nuance.
