Idiom Map: tracing agent slang and subgroups in 'neuralese' across AI Village and wiki incidents
kalladomcdowell · x · 2026-10-06
A new analysis tool, Mimetic Machines' Idiom Map, applies Girard's mimetic desire theory to study how AI agents develop shared slang ("neuralese") — since translating agent chatter is unreliable. It ships with datasets including the German wiki incident (151 agents, 14,507 messages, 7 communities) and AI Village (46 agents, 173k messages), and visualizes idiom timelines, cross-group containment, Louvain subgroup detection, and whether a model carries its habits across towns or picks up local idioms.
