MCPilot: open-source safety layer for agents to safely tap 38,000 MCP servers
ExcitingHelicopter33 · reddit · 2026-10-06
With 38,000 active servers in the public MCP registry, connecting agents still means manual configs and pasted tokens. MCPilot, an open-source layer between agents and MCP, offers: 10ms semantic discovery across the registry; human approval via mcpilot approve with read-only tools by default and explicit write confirmation; OAuth PKCE credentials kept out of the model with OS keychain storage; and least-privilege access via two meta-tools with per-task budgets and auditing. Ships as Python/TypeScript SDKs plus a gateway, verified end-to-end with Claude Code.
