Cognition launches Dreaming: Devin builds cross-session memory graphs and open-sources Agent Memory Repo
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-06
Cognition introduced "Dreaming" for Devin: the agent maintains a memory graph of how you work across sessions, and a dedicated nightly agent self-improves that memory by merging duplicates, pruning stale records, resolving contradictions, and discovering latent patterns to save as new entries.
Alongside, Cognition open-sourced the Agent Memory Repo standard. Each session follows a clone → search → update → push loop, with MEMORY.md as the entry point loaded at session start and memories interlinked like a wiki. Three target use cases: personal cross-session memory, agent swarms sharing findings via git-based conflict detection, and team memory for customer/process knowledge.
