Mistral Vibe ships smart approve mode, GLM 5.3 with 1M context, and subagent management
MistralAI · x · 2026-10-06
Mistral announced three updates to Vibe, its terminal coding agent:
- Smart approve mode: instead of approving every command or none, Vibe now pre-checks each command — routine ones run automatically, risky ones (like a force-push to main) pause with an explanation.
- GLM 5.3 replaces GLM 5.2 on paid plans, with up to 1M tokens of context for tracking large codebases across long multi-step tasks; switch via /model.
- Subagent management view: start helper subagents (e.g. for codebase search) and give them new instructions mid-run without leaving the main conversation.
Update with vibe update; new users can install via uv tool install mistral-vibe.
