New MCP Events spec lets agents hire other agents and get async results
dsp_ · x · 2026-10-06
A new MCP Events spec (essentially dynamic webhook registrations) is drawing attention: one agent (e.g. ChatGPT, dot, muse) can hire another agent's services via an MCP server, with the second agent doing work and returning results later via events.
Author jonas argues this unlocks new business models: Lovable could become a paid MCP server, monitoring/research businesses could be packaged as agent services, and even cloud agents themselves can be exposed as MCP servers — e.g. dot using muse as an MCP server with events for responses.
