mini-web-agent: a working browser agent from scratch in under 400 lines of Python
xhluca · x · 2026-10-06
Developer xhluca released mini-web-agent, an open-source project implementing a capable web agent from scratch in under 400 lines of Python, compatible with any frontier LLM.
- Inspired by mini-swe-agent's premise that a strong model needs only a minimal agent loop, here applied to the browser
- The agent works from screenshots plus browser controls, making it easy to watch how the model sees a page, picks actions, and decides a task is done
- Demo: Gemini 3.8 Flash books a Robotics Lab workshop using only screenshots and verifies the confirmation
- The short implementation is meant for experimentation: change instructions, swap models, add actions, and observe the effect
