Rewriting an AI paper sentence-by-sentence erases it: reviewers end up working harder than authors

Paul Novosad continues the thread: he has tried AI-first-draft-then-heavy-editing, but rewriting every sentence leaves no AI character at all — people claiming otherwise aren't actually editing much. With bad AI-written technical papers, the reviewer may spend more time with the manuscript than the author did — an unsustainable equilibrium he opts out of.
