NYC Council kicks off AI safeguards hearing with Brundage, Kokotajlo and other researchers testifying

The New York City Council hearing on AI safeguards has begun and is streaming live. Intelligencer published a joint interview with Miles Brundage, Rosie Campbell, Jacob Coxon, Jacob Hilton, Pamela Mishkin, Daniel Kokotajlo, Alex Turner, and Jeff Wu.
Several of these AI safety researchers testified at the hearing, which observers see as a strong move by the EA community to push AI safety onto the local legislative agenda.
