AlphaProtein Novo designs novel enzymes that outperform natural starting points
snikolov · x · 2026-10-05
Snikolov retweets a research team using AlphaProtein Novo to design novel enzymes for piperidine synthesis and DEHP bioremediation. Initial designs gave only 0.1% yield, but one design-refinement round plus two rounds of directed evolution lifted yield above 60% — even in 40% DMSO — yielding solvent-tolerant, highly selective enzymes with broad substrate scope, outperforming natural starting points.
