Open-source mova audits coding agent context, cutting tokens 64% in demo
1982_miguel · reddit · 2026-10-05
A developer open-sourced mova, a Go binary enforcing "context sovereignty before inference": Focus (AST) → PII masking → token budget → egress gate → LLM → evidence trail, with no LLM or API key needed for governance. In a reproducible demo, context dropped from 20,014 to 7,153 tokens (−64%), AST focus alone cut 20,101 to 5,325, and 171 of 1,694 PII-candidate tokens were pseudonymized. Limitations: only sees context passing through mova, masking is heuristic and unbenchmarked, IDE-direct traffic invisible. Repo: github.com/m1guel1982/mova-context.
