GSS lets you build 3D scenes in CSS — and LLMs already know how to write it
round · x · 2026-10-05
LukyVJ released GSS (GPU Style Sheets), a new language for building 3D scenes the way you write CSS: selectors, cascade, :hover and @keyframes compiled into a single raymarched GLSL fragment shader — no Three.js, no meshes. One selector can style a thousand objects, with the cascade deciding outcomes.
The AI hook is explicit: every model knows CSS by heart, so the LLM writes the style sheet while the compiler writes the shader. The project ships as open-source npm package gss-lang v0.0.5 with TypeScript types, a Vite plugin, CDN embed, and a live playground that compiles as you type.
