Google makes stateful Interactions API the default for Gemini models and Agent Platform

Google Cloud's Richard Seroter announced that the Interactions API is now the default API for Gemini models and for Google Cloud's Agent Platform, with updated agent skills.
The Interactions API provides a unified, stateful interface for building generative AI apps and autonomous agents on Gemini, supporting multi-turn conversations, real-time streaming, structured output enforcement, function calling, and long-running background task orchestration.
