chris_j_paxton · x · 2026-10-05
A post claims you can rent a robotic arm that works 24/7 for $17 an hour in the Bay Area, with someone coming to your place to set it up and keep it running. The quoted author speculates this will spawn a wave of "skilled trades" people whose job is to configure and tune robots for esoteric tasks. The thread highlights the on-site deployment and maintenance labor that embodied robotics may require, and the new job categories it could create.
