Turbocrypt ships a new release: fast Zig-based encryption for Git repos and directory trees
jedisct1 · x · 2026-10-05
- Author jedisct1 (libsodium maintainer) released a new Turbocrypt version, with 1.0.0 imminent.
- It encrypts anything from single files to whole backup trees, mounts encrypted folders as local volumes, and keeps private files inside public Git repositories.
- Written in Zig (Linux/macOS/Windows/BSD), parallelized for speed, built on modern crypto (Argon2, AEGIS, HCTR2, TurboSHAKE) with no insecure options; the repo even includes an AI-POLICY.md.
