HeyGen Video 1 lands on OpenRouter, matching top video models in blind tests at a fraction of the price

OpenRouter announced that HeyGen's general-purpose video model, HeyGen Video 1, is now available on its platform.
Key points:
- Aimed at business short-form video (brand moments, product demos, training content), generating clips with synthesized dialogue, ambience and sound effects in a single call.
- Accepts text prompts, a first-frame image, or image/video/audio reference sets the prompt can address directly.
- HeyGen says blind side-by-side tests show it holding up against top video models at a fraction of the price; OpenRouter lists it from $0.01/second, currently 50% off.
- Unlike HeyGen's Avatar IV and Video Agent, it's not an avatar product — no talking-head, script, or lip-sync step; prompt and references drive the whole scene.
