Claude Code VS Code extension bug: session history ignores CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR when a process wrapper is set

A bug report against Claude Code's VS Code extension (v2.1.284, macOS): when claudeCode.claudeProcessWrapper is set to a wrapper that configures CLAUDECONFIGDIR, the session history sidebar still reads /.claude/projects instead of the directory the CLI actually uses.

Result: every user with a wrapper setup sees past sessions vanish from the sidebar with no error (no data loss). The config directory reported by claude auth status -- is discarded, and an absolute CLAUDECONFIGDIR in claudeCode.environmentVariables is also ignored—the only workaround is placing it in VS Code's own launch environment, which a normal Dock/Finder launch never has.

The reporter runs Claude Code against AWS Bedrock with a separate config dir (/.claude-api) alongside a personal subscription (/.claude), using a wrapper because Insiders restarts lose launch-time env vars and the wrapper can refuse to start without Bedrock credentials. Three suggested fixes are included.
