Aleph Alpha ships open-weights model, but agentic evals trail Qwen badly
HildeKuehne · x · 2026-10-05
Aleph Alpha released an open-weights model with a public tech report, which JJitsev calls an important alternative to the Qwen and Nemotron series. Caveats: no dataset release (unlike Nemotron) and agentic evals like TB 2.1 come in far below Qwen. Still seen as a hopeful step for German/European AI.
