Axios reports that Nvidia-backed Reflection is preparing to release its first open-weight model to compete with China's leading open models, initially expected to trail the most advanced US models.
The goal is letting companies build customized AI systems on their own data and compute with lower costs and greater control. Reflection has partnerships including a sovereign AI factory with South Korea's Shinsegae Group and server rentals from Nebius and SpaceX.
