The Guangzhou Langham Hotel has rolled out S2 (Xiaozhi), a wheeled humanoid from Shenzhen's AutoLife, to handle service demand during the upcoming Autumn Canton Fair.
- The robot greets guests, brews coffee, runs a popcorn stand, and offers info services (transport, weather, attractions) in Mandarin, English, Cantonese and more.
- It aims to ease staffing shortages, though its current tasks remain simple.
- The same company's S1 retail kiosk robot: omnidirectional wheels, 1-1.6m tall, 72kg, 10-hour battery, 3-5kg single-arm payload, with QR-code payment and robot product retrieval.
