In an X debate, ArtemisConsort argued that if you predicted a human-level AI could bootstrap itself to a demigod in hours, you should update your world model now that millennium-problem-solving systems remain bottlenecked on RSI by billions in additional capex. David Patterson responded that doomer fears are based on SI and RSI that do not exist, and that doomers refuse to update despite current systems lacking the feared characteristics.
