Open-source AI Employee Builder turns job roles into portable, model-agnostic agent specs
yongqianme · x · 2026-10-05
Developer yongqianme open-sourced universal-ai-employee-builder on GitHub, a reusable Agent Skill that turns a job, role, or recurring business mission into a deployable "AI employee" specification, building on Brian Roemmele's AI-employee concept.
Core principle: the model is a replaceable reasoning engine; the employee contract is the durable product. Instead of a giant persona prompt, it defines the full operating system around the model: mission, responsibilities, tools, permissions, approvals, memory, persistent state, scheduling, verification, audit logs, evaluation, and runtime adapters.
The resulting spec can be adapted to OpenAI-, Anthropic-, Gemini-, Grok/xAI-style runtimes or local open models, as long as the runtime supplies the required capabilities.
