EditHero: First benchmark for long-horizon part-level 3D editing compares agentic vs non-agentic approaches
_akhaliq · x · 2026-10-05
EditHero is, to the authors' knowledge, the first benchmark for long-horizon, part-level 3D editing. It argues that real assets are built through long sequences of revisions—each edit must implement the requested change while leaving everything else untouched—yet existing methods are tested on single edits.
Key points:
- Natural-language edit instructions with target images for both geometry and texture
- A deterministic assembly engine produces the exact target after every edit
- Every sequence is manually reviewed
- The benchmark compares two opposing approaches: agentic vs non-agentic 3D editing
Authors include Ming-Hsuan Yang and Kaipeng Zhang; paper is on arXiv (2610.02298).
