FDE playbook: build agents inside clients' existing systems of record, not AI-native stacks
vasuman · x · 2026-10-05
A forward deployed engineer course author shares a key deployment principle: never ask clients to migrate to an AI-native CRM — one client spent years and $10M on an ERP migration, and suggesting a switch loses them. Instead, build agents inside the systems of record: read data in Salesforce, do the work in Salesforce, and loop humans in via Slack so staff need no new training. SMB clients without a CRM are the exception. The author also sells a course on becoming a $1M/yr FDE.
